Let me rephrase that. I’m not too fond of a lack of ownership and accountability. One of the excuses I am becoming less tolerant of is “I don’t have the money.” Now, I am no money expert. So please do not use this to guide your decisions about your finances. I am also not trying to sell you anything. However, I have a book on Amazon and a coaching program you may want to check out here.

Money has been the bane of my existence at times. I didn’t have enough or just enough to complete a task, fulfill a goal, or enjoy what I wanted. Yet, I am grateful always to have what I need in my life and appreciative of the growth in, at times, not having what I wanted.
See, we forget a few things about money that we can quickly identify in other areas of our lives. This blog post has beliefs I have adopted over time from experts and leaders across several industries. To check out a few of my favorites, click here for my Amazon Book List.
Money does grow on trees
You can always make more money. Yes, it is true. Unlike time, we can create streams of opportunity to increase revenue, from turning your talents into legal profits to enhancing skills to explore better income opportunities in your profession. Money is a resource that can be generated or produced. It is not THE source. At the same time, things like time and breath are metaphysical necessities for existence. No matter how much time we want at the end of the day, we only get 24. Labored breathing from a stuffy nose is why we cherish the power of clear, deep breaths when we are well. We tend to think of and appreciate what we don’t have more. If money is an excuse for why you can’t or won’t do anything, try to find out why you don’t have enough. How can you get more? What can you do to add value to your money while setting boundaries and goals to increase what you have to what you want/need? Money DOES grow on trees, and you have the opportunity to plant and grow your very own tree in you so desire.
Money is not the root of all evil
It is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. The love turns to greed, ego, and pride. Having money doesn’t make you the person you desire to be, and not having it doesn’t stop you either. We are only a series of decisions away from the opportunity. Sometimes money can cloud your judgment, but it doesn’t decide for you. I have never had a dollar bill or coin tell me I was making a good or bad decision. If it did, I would spend it with the quickness to get that back into rotation and out o my hands. You deserve to live a life of abundance and peace. A life where your money can grow because you make the right decisions and have the best intuitions centering you in the process. The next time someone tells you money is the root of all evil, ask them how much they have—usually, those with little trying to keep you from getting a lot.
Show me your bank statement, and I will tell you what you lack.
I said bank statement! Not cash app or PayPal. The first indicator of your ability to safeguard your goals. Cashapp, Paypal, and other digital money processing companies can be gone as quickly as they came into existence. Financial institutions are insured to take care of your investment with them. You wouldn’t see a doctor in the basement of a barbershop, would you? I am assuming we all said No here. So why trust something you value and need to achieve your goals and sustain your life in a place unable to safeguard it? Are you overextending your accounts? Chances are you do the same thing in relationships. Are you paying bills late? Chances are you are THAT friend in the group. Are you always giving out money you don’t have? Chances are you can tell people no. Are you living paycheck to paycheck with no extra left? Chances are you do the bare minimum in everything, and you are ok with others swooping in to save the day for you. Now, maybe some of this is not true. I am willing to bet that it is, and I don’t make bets because I don’t play with money.
Take action
Analyze your spending habits and then cross-reference them into the goals you have for yourself and how you interact in relationships. How many beliefs about money mirror those of your life beliefs? Take some time to write them down and see which ones sound the same if you shift the subject back and forth between life, love, relationships, profession, faith, and money?
While we are on the subject of faith, here is the other thing. Hebrews 11:1 “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” So if you believe God will provide and increase for you in the next season, why haven’t you been a good steward over what he has given you in this one. That is not just about money, but time, energy, relationships, talents, and even wisdom. Don’t play God by asking and affirming he will give you more when you look at what he has provided and turn your nose up or make excuses for why it isn’t enough.
Don’t let money, a resource you can create and increase, be the reason your life remains the same. Instead, choose small and intentional ways to invest money into the areas of your life where you will see the most significant increase. You deserve to have the life created to live with no excuses.
I hope this helps you transform your frustration and overwhelm into a productive time of prioritizing what you need, do and be in your challenging times.
